18 month check up

We had Maddie's 18 month well checkup, and it went pretty good. Her weight was 20 lbs and 13 oz. which is in the 6%. Her height was 30" which was in the 9%, and then of course my big brained baby has a 18.5 inch head which puts her in the 60th% somewhere. So where she is lacking in height and weight she makes up in her big noggin. As far as developmentally she is doing GREAT! She got 2 shots today and that will be it until she is 2 years old. So it will be 1 whole year before we go back to the doctor for a well checkup.

Also, I have finally tried to put her hair in pigtails.....she wouldnt sit real still so they are not real straight, but it was just a trial run to see if she had enough hair. The pictures are below.

Then to top things off, I was watching Maddie, and she had a pacifier in her mouth. However, she found another one on the table...."oh what a dilema", so she found a solution....I havent laughed that hard in a long time.

Maddie's 1st Rodeo

Well, we went to the rodeo on Friday since my cousin Tim was competing and our neighbors daughter (who was our flower girl in our wedding) was in the Mutton Bustin. It was GREAT! We went to the petting zoo and she rode a pony. You can tell by the pictures how excited she was about all of this, lol. I think next week will be better, because we are going back to the rodeo and she will be a little more familiar with all the different animals. My cousin Tim and his partner had the best time of the night in Team Roping, it was so exciting! I also put a picture of Maddie holding her very first gun, her Daddy couldnt be happier!

First Day to Call into Work

Well, today was my first official sick day from work. I have managed to go to school twice with strep throat, and other minor sickness, however, today I had to stay home. Let's just say that I spent alot of time in the bathroom today. It's getting better this afternoon, so I am praying that I feel better in the morning. I have sooooo much stuff to do at work, and cant imagine missing another day. My wonderful sister-in-law, came to pick Maddie up around 11 I think and took her to Bronte with her so I could get some much needed rest. I dont even remember what time she got back, but I think around 4ish. Then Maddie was so tired I put her down for a nap, so all in all, my day has been peaceful. Josh was at work today, but he ordered steak express and had it delivered to my house. I didnt eat much, but was very thankful that he tried to help me feel better while he was at work. I do feel better at the moment, so hopefully it was just a 24 hour bug.
As far as work goes, we are supposed to have the new teacher by the end of the week!! Can't wait!
Maddie has her 18 month checkup on the 25th, and I can't wait for that either. I am very interested to see what he says about her weight. She has grown a little and we are at 21 pounds, just wondering if that enough.
We will be going to the rodeo on the 27th with my Gran and Grandad, and thats exciting because it will be Maddie very first rodeo! She went to the fair grounds last year, but not the actual rodeo. I think as much as she loves the animals at the ranch, she is going to love it! I also think it will be Josh and I's first time to go to the rodeo...not sure how he has accomplished that for so long, but now I get to use Maddie as leverage to get him to go, hehe.

Relief!

Thank you God! He answered a large group of teachers prayers today! It took alot of discussion, emotion, and effort on several peoples parts, but ladies and gentlemen!! We finally got approved to get a 5th teacher!! So, each of the 4 classes gets to lose 4 or 5 students. It's very hard to decide which students get to go, because there are lots of different things you have to consider. Getting a new teacher in February isn't exactly normal, but it was SOOO desperately needed. We had 3 classes of 23, and 1 class of 24. For those of you who are not teachers, the max one teacher is supposed to have is 22. They have been giving waivers to let it slide since Kindergarten and finally administration is seeing the light of how that would have a negative effect on everyone in the long run. So some time next week, my class will consist of 18 students!! I was going to write about something else, but I cant remember what it was now. Maybe I will remember next time.

Monday Madness!!

Well, I am so very glad I have a GT training workshop tomorrow!! I get to sleep in late and leave early. I was up at work till 5:30 trying to get things caught up and stuff ready for the sub, but I feel better when I get home and I know everything is in place. I cant believe it's been so long since I've posted, Im becoming a slacker I guess. So here it goes:
  • Things at work have been interesting and complicated, and I know that God is putting me in a spot to test my faith! Everyday I have to remind myself 2 things. First, everything happens for a reason. Secondly, he wouldnt put something in front of me that he knew I couldnt handle.
  • Maddie got her first back tooth and she is officially 21 pounds!
  • I love going to the Fireproof sessions!! It gives us Godly things to talk about and discuss involving our marriage. I also feel that it is bringing us even closer to each other as well as with God! What a great feeling! I have also decided that instead of staying home on the Sundays that Josh works, I will start going with friends to Immanuel Baptist.
  • I lost 1 pound last week!!
  • We stuck to our goal of eating at home 3 days last week, and I only drank water when we went out to eat!! I also made it a point to work out on the Wii as much as possible, which wasnt that much, but better than nothing.
  • I took some pictures of Maddie yesterday with her first gun, I will post them later!

All About Cakes!

This weekend, I spent alot of time at my friends Amy and Dales house. We made a few cakes and I decided to put them on here, as well as all the cakes I have made over the past few years. Amy sold her first cake the other day (the UT cake), and then we started talking about going in buisness someday, lol. It's fun to think about because we enjoy doing it so much. So I guess if I decide someday that I no longer want to teach, I will be able to go into the cake buisness.

I made the guitar cake for my sister's birthday.
The tractor cake was for Shyannes wedding shower that was the John Deere Theme

These are Maddie's birthday cakes

Shyanne's baby shower cake

Lacy's bacholorette party cake

Birthday cake for ladies at work.

Super bowl cake that Amy and I made together this weedend

And my favorite, the UT cake that we made together also. This was my first experience messing with fondant, its not as bad as I thought. It looks really nice anyway. This was her first cake that she sold.
