32 Weeks

How far along? 32 weeks and 1 day

Weight gain: -1 lbs.

Total weight gain: 2 lbs. (it worries me a little, but he said the baby is growing and didnt show any concerns)

Blood Pressure: 103/60 It has been pretty low the last couple of weeks compared to usual, but once again, he doesnt seem to be worried

Babies HeartBeat: 160

Symptoms: not a one

Sleep: sleep is still good

Best moment this week: going feeding with Josh at the ranch, and holding Maddie in my lap while Josh was driving down the ranch roads and she fell asleep. For some reason I just took it in and it made me cry because I love her so much

Movement: all the time, and she is all over the place, even in my ribs some, which i dont remember ever happening with Maddie

Food cravings: none....its actually hard for me to think of anything that sounds good lately

Gender: Girl

Belly Button in or out? still in

What I miss: being able to help out at the ranch

What I am looking forward to: New Years Day....( I would look foward to New Years Eve, except Josh will be working :(

Weekly Wisdom: Go to the Chiropractor! I have to go when I am pregnant because the baby puts to much pressure on my siotic nerve, and it works miracles!!

Milestones: i dont guess I can think of anything significant this week

Confessions of a Working Mom: since Im off for school, its not really a working mom confession, but I have not been drinking water like I should....Josh has to make me drink water. But they kinda got on to me today at the doctor so I will make a better effort from here on out.

Ouch...

I had another orthodontist appointment yesterday and she finally put the second small wire into the bracket attached to my tooth on top. When we first started she was only able to get one in there because it was to far back. Up until yesterday I had very rarely felt any pressure on that tooth, but after yesterday all I can say is OUCH! All the rest of my teeth are basically where they are going to be except for that one tooth so needless to say ALL the pressure is on one spot. I do think though that it has already moved just since yesterday, so hopefully it will make its way to the front quickly, lol.

Maddie stayed the night with Josh's parents in Bronte for the first time Monday night, and everything went great. We drove to Bronte to pick her up around lunch and ended up spending the rest of the day there. We looked at houses for sale(wishful thinking) and Christmas lights.

Today we are going to clean up a little more, finish wrapping all the Christmas presents because we are completely done with the shopping portion, and hopefully relax a little before all the craziness sets in.

31 Weeks

How far along? 31 weeks

Total weight gain: 3 lbs.

Symptoms: not a one

Sleep: sleep is still good...wish I could lay on my back, but other than that Im good

Best moment this week: getting out of school for the Christmas break

Movement: all the time, and she is all over the place

Food cravings: none....its actually hard for me to think of anything that sounds good lately

Gender: Girl- for sure! We saw the 3 lines when we did the 3D sonogram

Belly Button in or out? still in

What I miss: being able to pick things up myself, sometimes I feel useless

What I am looking forward to: Christmas of course! and getting new colors on my braces today

Weekly Wisdom: coupons may seem insignificant each time you use them, but they add up over time for sure (even if you just used the diaper coupons)

Milestones: i dont guess I can think of anything significant this week

Confessions of a Working Mom: I had good intentions of potty training Maddie when I got out of school for the Christmas break, but all I want to do is rest :(

Maybe in a few days :)

Taking a Break

I have been cleaning all morning, and have decided to take a break and blog!

Today is my first day off from school, and I am loving it! Josh is at work so Maddie and I are going to do some Christmas shopping. First of all because we have to buy his presents and secondly because he will be thrilled to know that we have no more Christmas shopping to do for anyone else and he can relax for the next week. I am going to break this blog up into sections because as I have said before, I dont blog enough to keep it short and sweet anymore.

*Baby Section- As for me, I am now 30 weeks along, going every 2 weeks for appointments, and have had a wonderful pregnancy thus far. We went on Thursday and I have gained a total of 3 pounds from where I started off. The doctor says everything is great and the baby is growing. We did our 3D sono last week and saw "the parts" clearly, and now I am sure that this baby's name is Kenzie Layne Schoenfield!! It made me feel better to actually see the 3 lines and not hear the doctor say, "hmmmmm, I would say a girl" (thats just not very convincing to me personally).

On a side note: My friend Amy had her baby girl, Brynna Belle, earlier this week, and she is beautiful. Maddie and I went to see her, and Maddie liked it when she would peek at her. She did not want to hold her though, but maybe with a little more time she would have warmed up to that. I'm still very curious to see how she will react to Kenzie.

Also in the past few days I have learned of 2 new pregnacy's and I am super excited about them both! Not sure if they are telling everyone yet, so I will hold off on names until they have more time to tell people themselves.

Susan and Bryan will be having their baby boy anyday now, (wishful thinking just for you Susan), my cousin Tim and his wife Kayton are due a week before me in February, then I will have Kenzie, there is a lady at work having a baby in May, my friends Amy and Dale are due in July, and then the new additions to my pregnant friends that will be due in August.
SO MANY BABIES!!!! YEAH!!!

Christmas Section- I have very little shopping done, but hopefully after today I will be finished or close to it. No big plans for my 2 weeks off from school, just the usual Christmas Eve with Joshs family, Christmas day with my family, and then to Clyde with my dads family the next day. This will be the first Christmas that Josh will have off since he started working at the fire department, so it will be extra special!!

Accident Section- earlier this week I was trying to pull out of my driveway to go pick up Maddie and I got hit on my back bumper. It doesnt look that bad on my car, but apparently its 2200 dollars to get fixed. It was my fault, but since the policeman new Josh's uncle and found out that Josh was a fireman, he let me off with a warning, which was a BIG relief. He also saw why the wreck happened and knew it really wasn't my fault. My neighbor has a very dense section of his yard right by the road full of bushes. In Joshs truck they are no big deal, cause you can see over them, however, I cannot see around them and have to pull out into the street just to see if a car is coming from that way. Usually the people driving down my street are driving slow enough that they slow down if they see me coming, and when I notice the car, I pull back in real fast. However, this lady had a dog in her lap and was going pretty fast and wasnt able to stop fast enough. It smashed her whole hood in, but we were both ok.

Here are a couple of random pictures just so I can give you something besides my rambling today:

This is our Christmas tree after Maddie put all the balls on...yes I did go back later and spread them out a little more evenly, hehe.

Maddie's first time to play in the snow!

Kayton and I at Thanksgiving....our babies will be about 1 week apart

Oh What a Busy Time of the Year!

My posting are becoming few and far between. Lately I have just been to busy or to tired blog. The only problem with this is that when I do decide to blog, I have quiet a bit to say...So here we go again...

Thanksgiving was great for many reasons! First of all..I was out of school for 5 days, which is always a wonderful thing. Secondly I got to see the majority of my family and enjoyed 3 full blown Thanksgiving meals, mmmmm. We had Thanksgiving with Josh's family the weekend before, then on Thanksgiving day we drove to Clyde to have Thanksgiving with my dad's family, then on Sunday we had Thanksgiving with my moms family.

Another thing we did during the break was attempted to start potty training Maddie. Not that we havent dabbled around with it for awhile, but this was different. I actually put an all day effort into the process on Wednesday and Friday (days that Josh was at work). She did well, for the first few days, 3 accidents on day 1 and only 1 accident on day 2. Now that I am back to work however, we are going to put it off for a few more weeks till I get out for Christmas. I just dont have the energy to mess with it when I get home from work.

Well I have been told that I have less than 5 minutes to get ready to go, because we are eating with Lacy and Dusty....so lucky for you this post is being cut short and I will have to start another post to finish up later.

Halloween 2009

So this Halloween was by far the best Maddie has had so far. The first year she was only 2 months old, then last year she was sick on Halloween and we didnt do much at all. This year however, we were in Clyde for my Grandma's surprise 70th birthday party, which went GREAT! All my family was down, so we all went door to door trick or treating in Clyde. We only had to go down one street, because they really got into it and it was a really long street. She could say Trick-or-Treat all day long, but when she got up to the stranger giving her candy she stood as quiet as a mouse and opened her bag as wide as it would go. I finally was able to get her to say thank you when we got to the last few houses. We all had a really good time...thats the way Halloween is supposed to be. We also got a pumpkin this year, and I needed the seeds for a school activity, so we cleaned it out really late one night so I could have the seeds. We were planning on carving it later, but never got around to it. Maddie had fun cleaning it out though once she got past the yucky feeling. While we were in Clyde we took some pictures at my Memaws house. The pictures of just Maddie are of her in front of a honeysuckle tree that I took pictures by when I was a little baby. If I can find those pictures I will put them up here later. The other pictures of the family are in front of my pecan tree that I used to climb on a regular basis. So all in all, we had a very blesssed weekend and I will never forget it!

New Post

Apparently (according to Susan :) I have been neglecting my duties as a blogger. You will understand once I finish this post.

This week at school is Red Ribbon week...funfun!! We get to dress up each day as listed below:

Monday- Jean Day

Tuesday- Camo Day

Wednesday- Red Day

Thursday- Inside Out Day

Friday- Jersey Day

Report cards also have to be finished by Wednesday, however, since this week is also the week we have parent conferences with the entire class (my class has 22 in it), I have to have some ready early so I can go over them with parents when they come in. I had 3 conferences today, but couldn't do any after school since I had another orthodontist appointment.

I am also on the Canned Food/Pumpkin Contest committee that is fixing to be underway, as well as on the sight-base committee.

So thats my busy life at work....here is my personal life update;

We went to Sweetwater last weekend to surprise Lacy for her birthday. They were already up there, but I told her we were busy and wouldnt be able to make it. She actually looked a little surprised and happy to see us when we showed up...it was great!

The plan for me was to take all my scrapbooking stuff with me and get the majoritity of my project ( will explain later) finished so I wouldnt have to work on it during the week. HOWEVER, I layed out all my supplies and realized that I was missing a few very important items, such as my tape, blades, shapes, and corner cutters....it wasnt even worth starting without them, so I got nothing finished while we were there.

Josh, Maddie, and I came home a little early on Sunday so I could run back by my Aunt Tanyas to pick up the stuff that I left, and then headed home to get started. Well to top things off, I still needed some more key pictures, so I had to upload them and send them to 1 hour at Walmart. We went to pick them up and while we were there I wanted to grab some stickers. Well they didnt have what I wanted so Josh started looking at the cricuit stuff, and after much deliberation, he convinced me to go ahead and buy it. I was planning on using my Christmas money to get myself one then, but its only 2 months away, hehe. So we finally got back home and I finished 2 pages.

The project I am refering to is some scrapbook pages I am making for my dad. My Grandma is turning 70 on the 29th, and we are having a surprise birthday party for her on the 31st. Each of her 7 children are responsible for making scrapbook pages that show his/her family with Grandma. Well since my dad isnt Mr. Scrapbook, I took on the responsibility. So on top of all the other activities going on this week at school, I have to come home and get busy on my scrapbooking since I still have at least 8 pages left to finish before Saturday. Wish me Luck!

As far as being pregnant goes, everything looked good the other day when I did my big 18 week sonogram, I also had Dr. Wilson take a peek to see if he could get a better look at the sex, and he went with girl as well. So Kenzie Layne will be our daughter to be!

I will try to do better on blogging more often, but don't expect to much from me till next week ;)

Really?

I got home from work on Friday, and Maddie pointed to my watch and said "braclet", I said no "it's my watch". She says "Oh a clock".......

Josh and I just kind of looked at each other in awe. She is getting too big for her britches and surprises me all the time with the the things she says. It's a good thing we are having another baby, because my daughter isn't a baby anymore, and I kind of miss it.

Big SONO.

We went yesterday for the big sonogram when they get all the official measurement and such. She was really nice and tried several times to get the baby to move, and had me change postitions, and use the restroom in an attempt to get my baby uncross his/her legs and give us a peek.
HOWEVER! That baby did not want us to know what he/she was yet, so he/she just stayed put through it all. The lady decided that she would give a guess, and said girl because she didnt see anything sticking out. There was not any signs of the "3 lines" that Maddie showed so clearly every time either. So right now I guess we are leaning towards girl, but I go back for a monthly check on the 13th, which also happens to be Josh's birthday, and I am going to ask Dr. Wilson to do a quick sono to see if the baby is more willing to reveal it's secret.
It's only a couple more weeks ;)

It's been awhile...

So I haven't felt the need to post anything lately, and I really can't think of anything but aimless thoughts to fill you in with. So thats what you are getting today.
  • The main thing I have been thinking about lately is the big question of BOY/GIRL? I know deep down in my heart I am hoping for a boy, but I don't feel as certain about that as I did last go round. Here are my thoughts- If it is a boy, I will be estatic to get to carry on Josh's last name and to have the little hunting buddy Josh NEEDS, as well as getting to have a Momma's boy, since Maddie is so hard core a Daddy's girl. On the other hand, if it is God's will for me to have another girl, I will have way less to worry about. Since my children will be sharing a room I will have very minor changes (more like updates) to make to the room. I will get to use all those WONDERFUL outfits that I hated packing away when Maddie outgrew them, and I will not have to worry about the circumcision (which honestly kind of scares me, probobly just the unknown). There are several other reasons I have been debating about in my head, but those are my main thoughts.
  • I LOVE FALL!! I used to say that Summer was my favorite season of the year, and yes it does have the best attribute any teacher could ask for (summer's off). However, the weather during Fall just makes me smile every morning when I wake up. It is cool, the colors are beautiful, and there are 2 great holidays in this time period (Halloween and Thanksgiving) Both of which I enjoy more than I used to because I love to dress Maddie up, and I cannot get enough time with my extended family these days, so Thanksgiving is Marvolous!
  • I go back on the 5th for my braces to get adjusted....too bad its on a Monday, because if I am sore I will have to endore an entire week at school in pain. :(
  • I am back to 22 kids again this year at school....I'm not in the mood for griping, so Im just going to leave it at that.

Thats about all I have for now, I'm sure after I find out what K-Baby's gender is my thoughts will become open for the many other things that I can talk about.

Doctors Appointment, Sickness, and Football...

  • So Thursday I went in for my 16 week checkup hoping that he would take a quick peek of the baby, however, he did not. I did get to hear the heartbeat for the first time though, and Im not sure, but it sounded fast too me. I know that wives tale has been proven to not be accurate, however its all I have to go with for now, so a girl is on my mind. It is weird how I refer to the baby. When I talk about my baby in the belly in single terms I call it a "him/he", however when I talk about Maddie and the baby I say "the girls". Well I guess I will have to wait until October 1st to find out. My special sono is scheduled at 3'oclock that day, and I am going to go crazy until then!
  • A few days ago my throat felt a little scratchy but I thought to myself, surely I cant already have strep throat, its only September. I usually get it more in the Nov and Dec time frame. Well last night after coming home from work I started to feel the lump I usually get, then had a hard time sleeping cause it hurt to swallow. I woke up on the verge of tears wishing I didnt have to go to work, cause its hard to keep a class of 21 in check when you cant communicate with them very well. However, since I will be taking time off for the baby I dont have many days to spare, so I made myself get up and go to work. I almost fell asleep in the car on the way to work...not so good. Then I struggled all day talking to the kids and trying to put on my happy face, because it was Grandparents day and we had over 150 Grandparents come to eat lunch with our kids. I survived through the day...barely. After school was over I called my doctor and told him all my symptoms and my history of having Strep every year for the past 5 or 6 years, and he was nice enough to just send in a prescription for a Z-Pac. I am crossing my fingers that it works, because I cant stand another day like today. So I went to Wal-Mart to pick up my prescription, and it was a nightmare! SAISD switched insurances this year and I still did not have my card. Well I thought they could just call it in and see what plan I was on. I got in line, they said come back in 30 minutes. So I did...waited in that line for 25 minutes for them to tell me that they couldnt do it cause I didnt have my insurance card! They sent me to the other line, by this point I was miserable and upset and I actually started to cry in Wal-Mart. The poor cashier was looking at me and didnt know what to say. She said the only way I could get it today was to pay the full amount which was 30 something dollars or else I would have to wait on my prescription card. I was so upset, but finally I asked if they could just call it in and this other guy acted like it was a major inconvience and said it would take awhile, to have a seat. It took 10 minutes and I got my prescription for 10 dollars. Its not my fault Blue Cross cant send out our cards in a timely manner. I did feel like an idiot for crying, but I just lost it. Between being pregnant, sick, and very tired I had no strength to hold it in.
  • I have been really wanting to get to a football game!!! Josh worked last week, so I didnt go to one. I would have if I knew that my family was going to Wink to watch Shea and Seth. So I talked to my cousin Tina and she said they were going to the Wall v. Ozona game tonight, and I was excited cause it just happened to be homecoming night and it worked out perfectly since Josh was working again. However, she called today and said they were not going, and I do not feel like getting out anyway. Luckily its raining like crazy and there is a good chance it would not have been that enjoyable anyhow. I would have loved to see my friends, but also would not have wanted to get them or their children sick with Strep. So needless to say, Josh will be off next Friday and WE WILL BE GOING SOMEWHERE TO WATCH FOOTBALL!!!!

Maddie 2 year checkup

On Wednesday we went to the doctor for Maddies 2 year checkup. Before I tell you her results, I will give you some previous numbers from her checkup 6 months ago.
Feb 25, 2009
30 inches tall- 9%
20 lbs. 13 oz- 6 %
18.5 (head)- 60+ %

Her results for Aug 26, 2009
33 1/4 in tall- 34%
24 lbs. 8 oz- 21%
18.75 (head) 50+%

YEA!!!!!!

So as you can see she gained over 3 pounds and also got more than 3 inches taller, in just 6 months!!! I was very excited! Also her head is finally becoming proportinate to the rest of her body....Its always been around the 70th percentile and is coming down slowly! As for the rest of the appointment, she is healthy as can be, and is talking extremely well for her age.

3 Year Anniversary and Maddies actual birthday

Josh was so sweet, and thoughtful this year for our 3 year anniversary. I felt bad because he and I went to Walmart and I let him pick out his own presents. (NOT LIKE ME AT ALL, I love to surprise him!) However, with staff development I have been exhausted. We went to Lacy's and she made us the supper of our choice, which happened to be sour cream chicken enchiladas, and homemade rice! Yum!!

These are also pictures of Maddie on the day she actually turned 2!!!

Daddy and his 2 year old daughter!

Maddie waking up on her 2nd birthday and showing us that she is 2, and you can see that sometimes she decides to cross her fingers.

Me and my 2 year old! That seems so strange to say, lol.

My anniversary presents....He got me lots of snacks for my classroom, some mini sharpies, and a little chalk board that says "Without teachers, life would have no class", and also an ornament that we had looked at that has a christmas tree in it that lights up and changes colors! I loved it. And what made it even better was his reasoning....He apparently looked up the traditional/modern gifts for the 3rd year anniversary and decided he would go with the modern which was glass, thus the reason he got me an ornament in August. Then he made me cry because there wasnt any room in the card to write anything, so he wrote what he wanted to say on a piece of paper and folded it inside!!!!!!! He will have so many brownie points he wont know what to use them for!

(There is another new post about Maddies birthday party before this one)

Maddie's "Pool" Party

So Maddie was supposed to have a pool party in Bronte, however, due to God's wonderful plan to make it rain that day, we got relocated to a pavilion down the road. It was pretty windy, and it did rain pretty good, but the pavilion was nice and big and no one got wet. I was a little disappointed, because she was supposed to look cute for her party, but we planned for a swimming party. So instead, she had messy hair and an over sized t-shirt. Oh-well, lesson for next time I suppose. It ended up being great anyway! She got so excited while opening presents, and would say, "Oh my Gosh", or "Oh Boy" every time she opened a present.

Maddie and Kylee at the party! Maddie trying to shoot in her basket, but its quite a bit too big right now, she will have to get some muscles. Maddie got a tricycle and wasn't able to pedal, so D'Laney took the job of pusher. She pushed Maddie around and around! It was so cute, and then Maddie took her eyes off the road and D'Laney kept turning her head so she would look straight ahead, it was very funny!

Maddie was so excited about all of her presents! It was so fun to watch this year, because she understood what was going on!

This is Maddie's monkey cake...I kind of rushed through it, because I got tired and frankly havent been in the cake making mood. But I really thought the cake was cute at Hayden's party and figured I could do it for Maddie. It may be a long time before I make this cake again, lol.

Tentative Due Date

So I had my doctors appointment today, and we did another sonogram. I CANNOT believe how much the baby has developed in just one month! It went from a blob- to a baby with arms and legs! We also set a tentative delivery date. He adjusted the due date to February 23rd, and he gave me a few day range of when I would like to deliver, and so I went with the 17th. So unless I go into delivery early, that will be K-Baby's Birthday!!! So very exciting!

WILD!!! A very long post!

So I finally got around to changing the background and such on my blog, its been awhile. The reason behind this theme is for 2 reasons.

1) Maddie is a wild thing! I mean look at that hair.
2) The theme at school this year is Wild About Fannin, so I am trying to get into the school spirit.
Maddie's birthday will be the jungle theme...I got the idea from Lindsey and loved it, so I am doing basically what she did for Haydens first birthday on Maddie's 2nd birthday.

Also, I finally downloaded the pictures off of my camera, so here are some updated pictures..Finally!

This was in the aquarium, and Maddie stood by that window for at least 10 minutes, she loved how close she was to the fish. She is trying to touch one through the glass.
This was Maddie's 1st official viewing of a real elephant. We have been teaching her all the animal sounds, but where having a hard time with elephant, but now that she has seen one, she does it really well! And I think the elephant was smiling in this picture.

They had a petting zoo, but it was just goats. So Maddie and I got a brush and brushed one.
What a coincidence that my little monkey, loved watching the monkeys! We would turn around a corner and she would say "monkey?", and point ahead as if they were around every corner. We did have to make a loop to watch them a second time because she liked them so much.

And this has nothing to do with the zoo, but I couldnt resist putting it up...How can something that messy be that cute?!!! I came up the stairs, and she waved at me like everything was fine and dandy...and it really was I guess, just a little messy.
Overall the San Antonio zoo was hot, but so very worth it! They have a very extensive kiddy area, that if we had known about, we would have come better prepared for. There are little geysers that shoot out of the ground and kids were running around in their swimsuits cooling off. They also have a building that is like a daycare full of toys so they can play in the air conditioner. The animals where awesome, and I will defiantly want to go back when they finish phase 2 of the African Safari.
Maddie is growing up so fast its crazy...so I figured I would update on her progress I guess you could call it since she is almost a 2 year old.
1) She talks ALOT! She has a very big vocabulary and I have had several people tell me they are surprised how much and how clearly she talks for her age. She still does not use the L sound or the R sound.
2) We are finally up to 24 month clothes, so we are no longer 6-12 months behind on sizes. We havent been to the doctor for her 2 year appointment yet, but it should be interesting. She is getting taller for sure, but her weight has not budged. It stays between 23 and 24 pounds and has for many many months now.
3) She is a MONKEY! She climbs on everything and jumps on everything. She carries her little chair around in order to get what she wants. She is still sleeping in her crib, but she will throw out all the blankets every morning so she can jump better.
4) She has very good manners, and knows when to use them....her favorite is "Pease" (please) because she usually gets what she is asking for as long as she uses her manners.
5) She still does not have any of her canine teeth, but one on the bottom has been close for a month now, lol.
6) She picks up on things very quickly that crack me up, such as the dumb Bratwurst commercials that say "Go Meat" at the end. She will hear it on TV and walk around throwing her arm in the air saying "Go Meat" for several minutes after its over. She also like the Dell computer commercial that sings the "Lollipop lollipop song"....since she doesnt use the L sound however, she sings it more like this " pop, pop, boom boom" its quite comical.
7) We still have just been toying with potty training, but she has gone #1 and #2 multiple times in her big girl potty. We tried big girl panties one day, and she tee teed 4 times in them and would tell me afterward, but Josh all of a sudden heard her grunting and went to check on her and she was sitting on her potty pooping. So at least she chose the more important # to do in the potty for mommy's sake.
8) She can do all of this animal sounds / motions: cow, pig, duck, puppy, kitty, elephant, monkey, sheep, donkey, lizard, and horse. (The donkey is the funniest!!, she learned that while hanging out with her uncle Tobin).
9) She eats EVERYTHING! I cannot think of one thing that she will not eat, and she eats all the time, which makes me a little curious as to why she does not gain any weight.
10) We have not mastered the art of dressing ourselves yet. She can put her arms through the shirt once I pull it over her head, and she steps into her shorts, but cannot do either without assistance. She can take her shorts, shoes, and socks off, but she has a hard time getting her arms out of her shirts to take them off.
Ok, so that is 10 things that mark her abilities or lack there of as a 1 year old. I love her so much, and cannot imagine loving 2 babies and a husband as much as I do....Sometimes I feel like my heart is overflowing! I love my family so very much!!!

Can we say emotional?

Its a little ridiculous I think that I am tearing up after hearing a commercial that reminds me of Maddie and she has only been gone for 10 minutes. My cousin Tina and my Aunt Tanya took Maddie for the night so that Josh and I could make some progress on cleaning the house. So Im going to blame all these emotions on the pregnancy, cause Im not usually this emotional....hahaha, yeah right! It's just me.

Maddie's birthday party!

Well I am sending out invitations sometime this week, but I am only sending them to Maddie's little friends and family. So if you do not get an invitation I am inviting you to come anyway! We are having her party on the 15th ( a week early ) at the Bronte pool from 6-8. The pools last day is the 16th so if we wanted the pool instead of a hot park we had to move up the party. My sister in law will be working that day so we will have a small family get together on her actual birthday so that Aunt Lacy can be there too.

Also I know I have been neglecting my duties as a blogger by waiting 2 weeks in between posts: for that I am sorry because I know I look foward to reading everyone elses post on a regular basis.

As far as my due date I am still semi unclear, but this is what I got from my doctors quick conversation....I believe that we are going with the 19th for the due date, however, he said we will deliver a week early due to the repeat c-section. So I would assume that it would be the 12th, but I guess I will have to ask for sure at my next appointment which is on Aug 10th.

I will get all my pictures off my camera at some point in time, but right now I am just being lazy. So maybe next time!

More than expected.

I was told when I made my first doctors appointment that I would just be speaking with the nurse today and we would schedule to visit with my doctor in 2 weeks or so. So we didnt worry about Josh working today because I knew I could answer all the questions, and I also took Maddie with me since it was just a chit-chat with the nurse.....WELL......

Turns out, I did talk to the nurse, but then she took me to another room to meet with the doctor. (What?!) So I have Maddie with me, and I have to get on the table, and she does not like that. Anyway, during the first visit, I talked to the nurse, got a pelvic exam, did a quick sonogram to check the due date, and also got sent for blood work!!! Maddie was not impressed, and I think Josh was a little bummed he didnt get to see the the first sonogram of K Baby.

Also, today is the my final day without braces, and I am of course partially terrified and partially curious. So I will of course take before, during, and after pictures. AHHHH!!

Another thing- I promise to get pictures up fairly soon...this past week has been crazy so I havent had much time to do anything.

Alot of updating and not one picture.

  • Last weekend we went to Lubbock for one of my family reunions. Josh, Maddie, and I rode with my cousin Tina and her husband Nick. We had a blast riding up there and hanging around together. I cant say that we had a bunch of fun at the reunion, because in all reality is was pretty lame. We did get to eat at Raisin Caines while we were in Lubbock, which curbed my craving for a little while. However, Saturday night Josh got a call from his dad letting us know that his PaPa passed away.
  • So Sunday we came home and spent the day with Joshs family and met with the preacher to decide on arrangements. Monday we went to Bronte to pick out flowers and do a few other neccessary activites, then that night we had visitation. It was wonderful, there were so many people that came to pay their respects. Tuesday was the funeral, and it was really nice. Joshs dad got up and read the obituary and then told a few stories. I was very proud of him for stepping up and doing that since no one else could.
  • Before visitation on Monday Lacy was going to go back home and do some homework and come back that night. Well on her way home she saw an Expedition fliped over so she stopped to try to help. She called Jeff and Josh because it ended up being really bad and she needed their help. There were 9 people in that vehicle and 2 were already dead when they got there. There were some volunteer ambulances there, but they were young and had never seen such a serious accident. So Josh and Jeff kind of took over and started the excavation of the ones still stuck in the vehicle. They got the others out, and did what they could to help the other ambulances get everyone situated. One got medi-vac'd, and most of the rest went to the hospital in the ambulances. It still amazes me that my husband is so capable of helping people in such situations. He is very good at what he does, and I am proud of him for that.
  • Thursday we went to my friend Mallorys place on the river in between Christoval and Menard. We had a nice relaxing time hanging out and sitting in the river. Then they shot off several fireworks on Friday night, it was great!
  • Saturday Josh had to work so we went to the firestation to watch the fireworks with him. Watching the fireworks from the airport is beautiful! It was nice outside too, so it was altogether a great night. As the fireworks at the lake finished up, they got called to a run! It once again made me so proud to watch him and the others run to the firetruck ready to put out a fire.

So needless to say last week was VERY busy and emotional in several different ways. This coming week will also be very busy, because I am going to get my impressions for my braces on Tuesday, then we will leave for Schlitterbahn and the San Antonio Zoo that day as well. We will get back on Thursday. I have my first appointment with my nurse on the 13th, and get my braces put on the 14th. AHHHHH...Did I mention that what was pure excitement is turning into pure nervousness!

Then on to the pregnancy- I was feeling great until we found out about Josh's grandad and then all of a sudden I started to feel nauseous I suppose. Not real bad, just a little annoying I guess you could say. It's much better now, but I have found that when I get even a little hungry or a little to hot, it starts again. Other than that nothing has changed.

I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July!!!

Good News!

So Im a little behind, but I just got my pictures off my camera. The day before Josh and I left for Shreveport we took Maddie to the park. She absoulutly loved playing in the sand.

I also have pictures of Maddie getting her toenails painted for the first time. I wouldn't have done it at all, but she had been carrying around my new polish and saying "Pretty!" so I went ahead and painted them to see what she thought.

So we dropped Maddie off with my parents on Monday and left for Shreveport. The hotel was wonderful, we shopped a little, and gambled quite a bit. I found lots of new slot machines that I really like such as Monopoly. Anyway, we only lost about 100 dollars over the 3 days of gambling, so I consider that quite an accomplishment. We had a great time, but couldn't wait to get back to see Maddie. She had a great time, but I loved hearing her scream "Mommy, Mommy"! when she saw us drive up. It melts my heart every time!

On to the BIG news...Maddie is going to be a big sister! Josh and I are so excited! I have an appointment with my doctors nurse on July 13th, and then I will see the doctor a couple of weeks after that. So according to the computer, my due date should be Feburary 19th, but we will see what the doctor says in the weeks to come.

Be back on Wednesday

Well I am momentarily taking a break from laundry and packing. You see, tomorrow Josh and I will take Maddie to my Mom's house around lunch and head to Shreveport LA for our last romantic getaway for probably a few years at the least. Maddie will stay with Mom and Dad for the majority of the time, but on Tuesday she will hang out with my Aunt Tanya while my mom is at work. Josh and I got a great deal on a really faboulous hotel in Shreveport so we couldn't pass it up. I'm sure we will gamble a little bit, maybe go to a movie, and more than likely take a trip to The Bass Pro Shop since its right down the street.
So luckily when we got our new phones, we upgraded to the National plan, so if you want to call me over the next 3 days go right ahead!

Wish Us LUCK!!!

Until Wednesday I will leave you with a video of my dancing daughter. I missed the majority of the dance because I couldnt find my camera and then I just settled for using my phone. Anyway, we were watching a movie on TV called Honey Brown I think and its about a girl who teaches kids to dance. Well Maddie thought she was teaching her too, because she started mimicing their every move. It took everything I had not to laugh, but I knew if I did she would stop. So here is the last bit of her dancing.

Hasn't Really Sunk In Yet

Ok, so I am at home on a Monday relaxing, and yet I still don't think it has sunk in that I am out of school for the summer. I wonder when it will finally hit me?

We went to Abilene on Saturday for the races and it was AWESOME! The ASC series was there this weekend and so there were 24 sprint cars, which almost never happens. Lots of crashes, flips, and excitement! We left Maddie with my Aunt Tanya and Uncle Tobin for the night and she had a good time helping Tanya in her garden. Tanya was picking weeds and dead flowers off of her plants and Maddie started to help her. She would start handing Tanya flowers (some were dead, but some were not) and say "Here ya Go". We got home at 2 in the morning and crashed. The next morning Josh had to go to work and I met Tanya at church and picked Maddie up in the nursery afterward.

Overall a great weekend, and I am looking foward to many more good times this summer!

PS....Maddie pooped in her potty for the first time yesterday, I am sure you all wanted to know that, but it was really funny!

Schools OUT for SUMMER!!

YEAH ME! I survived my first year (and hopefully my worst year) of teaching!! We got out today and I am at home relaxing with my family. I am excited but I dont think the realization that I will not have to go to work next week has actually kicked in yet....Maybe after sleeping in a few mornings I will appreciate it a little more.

A quote I once saw and loved said:
"The 3 best things about teaching are June, July, and August"

SO TRUE!

Where it Came From

So I had several people asking where the personalized photo cube that Josh got me for my birthday came from. It came from Personalizationmall.com, and there is so much stuff! I am going to get my dad a personalized grill set for Fathers Day.

We worked really hard on Monday and finished replacing our old shingle roof with a new charcoal metal roof. Before and after pictures posted below. We started at 5:15 am in the dark, and finished up around 6:00 pm....I am so very SORE!

I was also asked, last minute, to make my Grandad a birthday cake before we headed out to the lake on Sunday. So there are pictures of that below as well.

I am officially 25 years old!

I have had one of the best birthdays ever, and today hasn't even begun! Well I showed you the cross necklace that Josh gave me a few days ago. Then on Friday I was teaching class, and I get a knock on the door....He had a dozen multicolored Gerber Daisy's delivered to my class. I WAS EXSTATIC!! I have watched other people throughout the years recieve things from loved ones at work and was a little envious. Now everytime I see someone else get something, I will think about the beautiful flowers my husband sent to me on my 25th birthday! Then I got to open my last present today, and was once again, I was left in tears. It was a picture cube that on top had our names on it with a quote that says "To Love is to find pleasure in the happiness of the person loved." That could not be more TRUE. Then on top of it all he made me waffles for breakfast. I am SO blessed to have such a wonderful husband that loves me as much as I love him!

Something that just made my day even better, if thats possible.....
Saturday weigh in 179.2!!!!! (lost 1.4 lbs.)
So I broke the 180 mark on my birthday!!!!

Happy Birthday To Me!

Well I got two of my birthday presents today!! A few days early, but Im just not one that can stand the suspense! (And neither is Josh) The first present I got in the mail was from Mallory and it was a white mosaic cross that had a longhorn in the middle. It is BEAUTIFUL, and the funny thing is that I had bought one like it for Josh several years ago, but his is black, so now I have a pair!

The second thing I got was something that I have wanted for some time now. Josh did VERY good this year, and he still has 2 other presents that I dont get to open until later.
It is a cross necklace from Zales! He even had to order it because they did not have any in the stores, which means he actually planned ahead! Double Bonus Points!

Slowly but Surely!

So 3 weeks ago Josh and I FINALLY got serious about losing weight. We are not doing any kind of major weight loss plan, just making smarter choices and cutting out all sodas and tea (because we only drink sweet tea). So here are the results for the past 3 weeks.
Weigh In- 183 lbs.
Week 1- 181.8 (-1.2 lbs)
Week 2- 181.8 (-0.0 lbs.) bummer
Week 3- 180.6 (-1.2 lbs.)

So week 2 I didnt make any progress, but the good news is I didnt gain any either.
My original goal was to get back down to 170 before I got pregnant again. Well at the rate Im going it would take about 10 more weeks, and I do not have that long. So anything under 180 will have to work.
Josh has done SO good and stuck to the plan better than I wouldve thought...he actually makes me work harder at sticking to it, and I wouldnt have done this good if he wasnt doing it with me.

Of course he has lost.......exactly 8 lbs so far......a little jealous yes, but very proud of him.
I know that guys just lose faster, it's just a little crazy.

On a different note!! I dont have to go to school tomorrow! Bad Weather Day! I only have 2-4 day weeks left. Next week we have Monday off again because of Memorial Day. These last few weeks there is SO much going on and so much to finish up....I never realized all the end of year stuff teachers had to do, and now I understand why the last few weeks of school are a joke, lol.

So...as if this post wasnt long enough I am going to let you know my summer plans!

June- Week 1- couple of workshops for school and putting my new metal roof on my house
Week 2 & 3- Josh and I are going to go somewhere for a couple of days still undecided ( by our lonesome!)
Week 4- another workshop and getting my teeth cleaned
July- Week 1- going to Mallory's place on the river for 4th of July!! I cant wait
Week 2- get my impressions done for braces, and Schlitterbahn trip with Joshs family!!
Week 3- get braces!!!!!!!!! yes I am excited!
Week 4- another workshop
last week of July & first few weeks of August- not much
Sometime this summer, still debating on the exact month, we will be trying to get pregnant again.

So all in all there are SO MANY WONDERFUL things happening this summer and I cannot wait for school to be out!!!!

Teacher Appreciation Week!

Ooh La LA!! I love it!!
Monday- teachers got to wear jeans with their favorite jersey...so of course I wore my UT jersey! We also got a free milkshake from Chick-Fil-A
Tuesday- teachers got to wear jeans with red/green/white to support Cinco De Mayo. They also brought us a taco plate from Rosa's for lunch, and there was a Mariachi band at our school. Each morning they draw names for prizes and today I won a gift certificate to Johnny Carinos, yum!
Wednesday- teachers get to wear jeans AGAIN with school shirt...and during conference we get Spa treatment...not sure what that consists of yet but I am super excited! They are also buying us breakfast.
Thursday-once again, teachers get to wear jeans with hippy/tie dye clothes and they are going to buy us lunch again.
Friday- Hawaiian day...so teachers get to wear, you guessed it! Jeans again with their favorite Hawaiian shirt!

YOU CANNOT BEAT AN ENTIRE WEEK OF JEANS!!! I love it, but its the simple things in life that make me happy!

Oh So Lonely....

I got off of work today and went to Lacy's house to pick up Maddie, and then we headed to the house. My mom and dad came to the house and my dad stayed with Maddie while I took mom to get a pedicure for her birthday. So she and I had a very relaxing time getting pampered. It was my first pedicure since last year sometime. I cant even remember for sure when it was, I just know that I had an ingrown toenail taken out of both big toes in December and havent been back till today. After we finished up, we all went to KFC for supper, and then my parents took Maddie for the night.

SO that means....I am all by myself.
Maddie's with my parents and Josh is at work.

Is it sad that I am so excited for 10'oclock to finally get here so I can go to sleep and not be so lonely?

Potty Break Through

Well, awhile back we bought Maddie this cute little singing potty/ step stool. Well I just figured we would sit her on it when it was convenient like before bath time when we have already taken her diaper off anyway. Usually she just sits on it and then gets up and runs away laughing. Well, today I sat her on her potty while I was running her bath water, and all of a sudden I hear this duh duh daaaa!!! I turned around thinking Maddie put something in the potty to make it sing, but NOPE! SHE TEE TEE'D in the POTTY!!!! She is definitely not potty trained and I dont know that she or I are really ready to fully potty train, but at least she is figuring out what the cool chair in the hallway is really for, lol. I think sometime this summer we will actually start the real training process.

More exciting news!!! 23 school days left till summer!!!

Prayers Needed!

What a week this has been...

First of all Josh's uncle went into the doctor, then sent immediately to ICU to run tests to figure out what was causing his stomach pain. They couldn't find anything because the inflammation was blocking all the scans. So they had to do emergency surgery and do an old style cesarean cut in order to end up preforming a colostomy. There were several boundaries to overcome because of his size. So he has been in the hospital for almost a week now, and will be hooked up to a colostomy bag for 3 months. The big scare in his case is preventing infection, so please pray that everything heals the way it should.

Secondly, a very good friend of mine and her wonderful husband just lost their house and vehicles when their house burned down. Crista and Tony Rojo were at their house when a neighbor came to tell them their tool shed was on fire, so everyone including pets got out of the house safely, HOWEVER, they lost EVERYTHING.
My Aunt Robins house burnt down several years ago and it was devastating. It makes me cry just thinking about it still to this day.
So my prayers will be with them while they get everything back on track.

Lastly I will be praying for all my friends and family who are mothers, pregnant, or trying to become pregnant. I am so blessed to be surrounded by such wonderful people in my life, and want them to know as Mothers Day nears you are all special in my heart and I wish you the best.Tonight I will spend lots of time in prayer asking for comfort for those who need it, as well as saying thank you for all the blessings in my life!

Longest Blog EVER!!

For starters we had a great Easter weekend. On Friday we spent the day at Lacy's house with Josh's family. After we cooked and ate an Easter feast consisting of turkey, stuffing, potatoes, hash brown caserole, etc. etc., Maddie went outside for her Easter egg hunt. I was very thrilled to see that she got the concept and was able to pick up about 10 or so eggs before Jensen and Justin scooped up the rest. While we were there Lacy decided to try out her new Chi on my hair, so I had straight hair for the weekend, and I loved it.

Also, I got started making my friends Lindseys cakes for her son Hayden's first birthday party. I made a monkey cake and a personal cake for him to devour by himself. It turned out pretty good, so I was happy, just hoping that they liked them as much as I did.

Saturday morning Lindsey called and we decided she would probobly need another cake due to the big turnout for his party. So I ran to the store and whipped up another cake before the party at 2:00. The party was very cute and I had lots of compliments on the cakes, so that was nice.

Then we went to my Uncles Tobins for another Easter get together, ate fish and other stuff. (My dad and uncles caught over 25o pounds of fish Saturday morning) Maddie got introduced to confetti eggs, and I do not think she fully understood the purpose....she would break it then throw it on the ground.

Sunday we went to church at Lakeview United Methodist (where Josh and I got married )because we all (her kids, grandkids, and Maddie) go to Grans church on Easter.

So needless to say, my 3 day weekend was busy, yet relaxing. Did I mention that Josh some how got Saturday off, so he was at home all three days! I love him so much!

Ok so the actual post wasnt as long as I originally though, but there are TONS of pictures!

The wind was blowing pretty hard Saturday

Josh was trying to show Maddie how to use the confetti eggs

Completely pooped....Maddie worked hard hunting Easter eggs, not really what Josh did to get so tired.
