- So Thursday I went in for my 16 week checkup hoping that he would take a quick peek of the baby, however, he did not. I did get to hear the heartbeat for the first time though, and Im not sure, but it sounded fast too me. I know that wives tale has been proven to not be accurate, however its all I have to go with for now, so a girl is on my mind. It is weird how I refer to the baby. When I talk about my baby in the belly in single terms I call it a "him/he", however when I talk about Maddie and the baby I say "the girls". Well I guess I will have to wait until October 1st to find out. My special sono is scheduled at 3'oclock that day, and I am going to go crazy until then!
- A few days ago my throat felt a little scratchy but I thought to myself, surely I cant already have strep throat, its only September. I usually get it more in the Nov and Dec time frame. Well last night after coming home from work I started to feel the lump I usually get, then had a hard time sleeping cause it hurt to swallow. I woke up on the verge of tears wishing I didnt have to go to work, cause its hard to keep a class of 21 in check when you cant communicate with them very well. However, since I will be taking time off for the baby I dont have many days to spare, so I made myself get up and go to work. I almost fell asleep in the car on the way to work...not so good. Then I struggled all day talking to the kids and trying to put on my happy face, because it was Grandparents day and we had over 150 Grandparents come to eat lunch with our kids. I survived through the day...barely. After school was over I called my doctor and told him all my symptoms and my history of having Strep every year for the past 5 or 6 years, and he was nice enough to just send in a prescription for a Z-Pac. I am crossing my fingers that it works, because I cant stand another day like today. So I went to Wal-Mart to pick up my prescription, and it was a nightmare! SAISD switched insurances this year and I still did not have my card. Well I thought they could just call it in and see what plan I was on. I got in line, they said come back in 30 minutes. So I did...waited in that line for 25 minutes for them to tell me that they couldnt do it cause I didnt have my insurance card! They sent me to the other line, by this point I was miserable and upset and I actually started to cry in Wal-Mart. The poor cashier was looking at me and didnt know what to say. She said the only way I could get it today was to pay the full amount which was 30 something dollars or else I would have to wait on my prescription card. I was so upset, but finally I asked if they could just call it in and this other guy acted like it was a major inconvience and said it would take awhile, to have a seat. It took 10 minutes and I got my prescription for 10 dollars. Its not my fault Blue Cross cant send out our cards in a timely manner. I did feel like an idiot for crying, but I just lost it. Between being pregnant, sick, and very tired I had no strength to hold it in.
- I have been really wanting to get to a football game!!! Josh worked last week, so I didnt go to one. I would have if I knew that my family was going to Wink to watch Shea and Seth. So I talked to my cousin Tina and she said they were going to the Wall v. Ozona game tonight, and I was excited cause it just happened to be homecoming night and it worked out perfectly since Josh was working again. However, she called today and said they were not going, and I do not feel like getting out anyway. Luckily its raining like crazy and there is a good chance it would not have been that enjoyable anyhow. I would have loved to see my friends, but also would not have wanted to get them or their children sick with Strep. So needless to say, Josh will be off next Friday and WE WILL BE GOING SOMEWHERE TO WATCH FOOTBALL!!!!

Maddie 2 year checkup
On Wednesday we went to the doctor for Maddies 2 year checkup. Before I tell you her results, I will give you some previous numbers from her checkup 6 months ago.
Feb 25, 2009
30 inches tall- 9%
20 lbs. 13 oz- 6 %
18.5 (head)- 60+ %
Her results for Aug 26, 2009
33 1/4 in tall- 34%
24 lbs. 8 oz- 21%
18.75 (head) 50+%
YEA!!!!!!
So as you can see she gained over 3 pounds and also got more than 3 inches taller, in just 6 months!!! I was very excited! Also her head is finally becoming proportinate to the rest of her body....Its always been around the 70th percentile and is coming down slowly! As for the rest of the appointment, she is healthy as can be, and is talking extremely well for her age.

3 Year Anniversary and Maddies actual birthday
Josh was so sweet, and thoughtful this year for our 3 year anniversary. I felt bad because he and I went to Walmart and I let him pick out his own presents. (NOT LIKE ME AT ALL, I love to surprise him!) However, with staff development I have been exhausted. We went to Lacy's and she made us the supper of our choice, which happened to be sour cream chicken enchiladas, and homemade rice! Yum!!
These are also pictures of Maddie on the day she actually turned 2!!!
Daddy and his 2 year old daughter!

Maddie waking up on her 2nd birthday and showing us that she is 2, and you can see that sometimes she decides to cross her fingers.

Me and my 2 year old! That seems so strange to say, lol.

My anniversary presents....He got me lots of snacks for my classroom, some mini sharpies, and a little chalk board that says "Without teachers, life would have no class", and also an ornament that we had looked at that has a christmas tree in it that lights up and changes colors! I loved it. And what made it even better was his reasoning....He apparently looked up the traditional/modern gifts for the 3rd year anniversary and decided he would go with the modern which was glass, thus the reason he got me an ornament in August. Then he made me cry because there wasnt any room in the card to write anything, so he wrote what he wanted to say on a piece of paper and folded it inside!!!!!!! He will have so many brownie points he wont know what to use them for!

Maddie's "Pool" Party
So Maddie was supposed to have a pool party in Bronte, however, due to God's wonderful plan to make it rain that day, we got relocated to a pavilion down the road. It was pretty windy, and it did rain pretty good, but the pavilion was nice and big and no one got wet. I was a little disappointed, because she was supposed to look cute for her party, but we planned for a swimming party. So instead, she had messy hair and an over sized t-shirt. Oh-well, lesson for next time I suppose. It ended up being great anyway! She got so excited while opening presents, and would say, "Oh my Gosh", or "Oh Boy" every time she opened a present.
Maddie and Kylee at the party!
Maddie trying to shoot in her basket, but its quite a bit too big right now, she will have to get some muscles.
Maddie got a tricycle and wasn't able to pedal, so D'Laney took the job of pusher. She pushed Maddie around and around! It was so cute, and then Maddie took her eyes off the road and D'Laney kept turning her head so she would look straight ahead, it was very funny!

Tentative Due Date
So I had my doctors appointment today, and we did another sonogram. I CANNOT believe how much the baby has developed in just one month! It went from a blob- to a baby with arms and legs! We also set a tentative delivery date. He adjusted the due date to February 23rd, and he gave me a few day range of when I would like to deliver, and so I went with the 17th. So unless I go into delivery early, that will be K-Baby's Birthday!!! So very exciting!

WILD!!! A very long post!
So I finally got around to changing the background and such on my blog, its been awhile. The reason behind this theme is for 2 reasons.
1) Maddie is a wild thing! I mean look at that hair.
2) The theme at school this year is Wild About Fannin, so I am trying to get into the school spirit.
Maddie's birthday will be the jungle theme...I got the idea from Lindsey and loved it, so I am doing basically what she did for Haydens first birthday on Maddie's 2nd birthday.
Also, I finally downloaded the pictures off of my camera, so here are some updated pictures..Finally!
This was in the aquarium, and Maddie stood by that window for at least 10 minutes, she loved how close she was to the fish. She is trying to touch one through the glass.
This was Maddie's 1st official viewing of a real elephant. We have been teaching her all the animal sounds, but where having a hard time with elephant, but now that she has seen one, she does it really well! And I think the elephant was smiling in this picture.

They had a petting zoo, but it was just goats. So Maddie and I got a brush and brushed one.
What a coincidence that my little monkey, loved watching the monkeys! We would turn around a corner and she would say "monkey?", and point ahead as if they were around every corner. We did have to make a loop to watch them a second time because she liked them so much.

And this has nothing to do with the zoo, but I couldnt resist putting it up...How can something that messy be that cute?!!! I came up the stairs, and she waved at me like everything was fine and dandy...and it really was I guess, just a little messy.
Overall the San Antonio zoo was hot, but so very worth it! They have a very extensive kiddy area, that if we had known about, we would have come better prepared for. There are little geysers that shoot out of the ground and kids were running around in their swimsuits cooling off. They also have a building that is like a daycare full of toys so they can play in the air conditioner. The animals where awesome, and I will defiantly want to go back when they finish phase 2 of the African Safari.

Maddie is growing up so fast its crazy...so I figured I would update on her progress I guess you could call it since she is almost a 2 year old.
1) She talks ALOT! She has a very big vocabulary and I have had several people tell me they are surprised how much and how clearly she talks for her age. She still does not use the L sound or the R sound.
2) We are finally up to 24 month clothes, so we are no longer 6-12 months behind on sizes. We havent been to the doctor for her 2 year appointment yet, but it should be interesting. She is getting taller for sure, but her weight has not budged. It stays between 23 and 24 pounds and has for many many months now.
3) She is a MONKEY! She climbs on everything and jumps on everything. She carries her little chair around in order to get what she wants. She is still sleeping in her crib, but she will throw out all the blankets every morning so she can jump better.
4) She has very good manners, and knows when to use them....her favorite is "Pease" (please) because she usually gets what she is asking for as long as she uses her manners.
5) She still does not have any of her canine teeth, but one on the bottom has been close for a month now, lol.
6) She picks up on things very quickly that crack me up, such as the dumb Bratwurst commercials that say "Go Meat" at the end. She will hear it on TV and walk around throwing her arm in the air saying "Go Meat" for several minutes after its over. She also like the Dell computer commercial that sings the "Lollipop lollipop song"....since she doesnt use the L sound however, she sings it more like this " pop, pop, boom boom" its quite comical.
7) We still have just been toying with potty training, but she has gone #1 and #2 multiple times in her big girl potty. We tried big girl panties one day, and she tee teed 4 times in them and would tell me afterward, but Josh all of a sudden heard her grunting and went to check on her and she was sitting on her potty pooping. So at least she chose the more important # to do in the potty for mommy's sake.
8) She can do all of this animal sounds / motions: cow, pig, duck, puppy, kitty, elephant, monkey, sheep, donkey, lizard, and horse. (The donkey is the funniest!!, she learned that while hanging out with her uncle Tobin).
9) She eats EVERYTHING! I cannot think of one thing that she will not eat, and she eats all the time, which makes me a little curious as to why she does not gain any weight.
10) We have not mastered the art of dressing ourselves yet. She can put her arms through the shirt once I pull it over her head, and she steps into her shorts, but cannot do either without assistance. She can take her shorts, shoes, and socks off, but she has a hard time getting her arms out of her shirts to take them off.
Ok, so that is 10 things that mark her abilities or lack there of as a 1 year old. I love her so much, and cannot imagine loving 2 babies and a husband as much as I do....Sometimes I feel like my heart is overflowing! I love my family so very much!!!

Can we say emotional?
Its a little ridiculous I think that I am tearing up after hearing a commercial that reminds me of Maddie and she has only been gone for 10 minutes. My cousin Tina and my Aunt Tanya took Maddie for the night so that Josh and I could make some progress on cleaning the house. So Im going to blame all these emotions on the pregnancy, cause Im not usually this emotional....hahaha, yeah right! It's just me.
